At Community Records L3C, we help young people make a positive difference in their communities. The video above is an example of the work we do with young people. A multi-age group of young people from Willow Run, Michigan (calling themselves Helathy Habitats) were studying pollution in a nearby creek and wanted to write a song about it. So they called in Community Records L3C. In four 2-hr. sessions, we helped guide these youth through the songwriting and recording processes. The video and song are the resulting products. |

We customize our songwriting sessions to meet the needs of your students and your organization. Our curriculum is detailed yet fluid, structured and open to include the interests of the people we instruct. In short, we teach people, not canned lesson plans. In order to engage people in the songwriting process, it is important that they feel comfortable expressing themselves in a positive manner. We work to create an environment where this is possible. Through the resulting experience of creative expression, people gain self-confidence, the satisfaction of creating music and a greater understanding of themselves and the world around them. |
